NetID is used to access University services such as: SINC Site computers and printing, MySBmail (student e-mail accounts), MySBfiles (file storage), Blackboard, ResNet, library databases, sunysb.edu administrative shares, dial-in services, and VPN.
Information regarding your NetID and NetID password can be obtained by logging in to SOLAR with your Stony Brook ID and SOLAR password. On the SOLAR homepage, click NetID Maintenance under Security and Personal Data .
Staff members who currently sign in to the SUNYSB.EDU domain already have a NetID and NetID password that are using to sign in to this domain. You do not have to do anything but set your security question in SOLAR. If you do not currently sign in to the SUNYSB.EDU domain you will have to set your security question and your initial NetID password.
